HACKASTORM 2K26 is a national-level hackathon organized by the Mobile Application Development (MAD) Club and the School of Computing at EASA College of Engineering and Technology. The event brings together innovative students to collaborate, build creative solutions, and develop impactful technology projects within a limited time.
The hackathon will take place from 25 March 2026, 11:30 AM to 26 March 2026, 3:30 PM at the Seminar Hall, EASA College of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore.
The hackathon is open to undergraduate and postgraduate students from any engineering or technology background. Participants can register as a individual or a team of up to 4 members. Each team must consist of a maximum of 4 members as per the event guidelines.
Exciting cash prizes of ₹50,000, certificates, internship opportunities and recognition will be awarded to the top-performing teams. Winners will also gain valuable exposure, networking opportunities, and recognition for their innovative ideas.
Participants should bring:
- Their laptop and necessary chargers
- Student ID card
- Any hardware or tools required for their project
- Required software and development environment pre-installed

A stable internet connection, workspace, and basic facilities will be provided by the organizers.

Official Rules & Regulations

Please review the guidelines carefully before participating.

  • Each team must consist of 1 to 4 members only.
  • All members must belong to the same college or institution.
  • Cross-college teams are not allowed.
  • Each participant can be a member of only one team.
  • Every team must nominate one Team Leader for official communication.
  • Participants must carry a valid college ID for verification.
  • Registration Fee: ₹500 per head.
  • Registration will be confirmed only after successful payment verification.
  • The registration fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.
  • Teams must complete registration before the specified deadline.
  • Problem statements will be released only at the start of the hackathon.
  • Teams must select a problem statement after the official announcement and begin development.
  • The hackathon will run for 24 hours continuously.
  • Development and coding must begin only after the official announcement.
  • All projects must be completed and submitted before the final deadline.
  • All core coding must be done during the hackathon period.
  • Use of open-source libraries, frameworks, and APIs is allowed.
  • AI tools may be used for assistance, but the core logic must be developed by participants.
  • Projects must be original and developed by the team.
  • Solutions must align with at least one United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG).
  • Pre-built, reused, or previously submitted projects are strictly prohibited.
  • Teams must develop at least a working prototype or Minimum Viable Product (MVP).

Each team must submit the following before the final deadline:

  • Working prototype or MVP demonstration
  • Source code via GitHub or equivalent platform
  • README / project documentation
  • Presentation deck (PPT or PDF)

Note: Incomplete submissions may not be considered for evaluation.

Projects will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • Innovation & Creativity – 20%
  • Technical/Technological Feasibility – 10%
  • SDG Impact & Relevance – 20%
  • Presentation, Team Collaboration & Demo Quality – 20%
  • Adherence to Problem Statement – 20%
  • Q&A Handling – 10%

The judges’ decision will be final and binding.

  • Participants must be present throughout the event duration.
  • Teams must check in at designated times.
  • Mentorship sessions will be available during the hackathon.
  • Food and scheduled breaks will be provided.
  • Participants must always maintain professional behaviour.
  • The organizing committee’s decisions are final.
  • Participants must carry a valid college ID and a government-issued ID.
  • Internet connectivity will be provided by the organizers during the hackathon.
  • Participants are responsible for bringing their own laptops, hardware components, cables, and other equipment required for their project.
  • Extension boxes will be provided by the organizers. Participants also must bring their own extension boxes.
  • Photography and videography may be conducted during the event for documentation and promotional purposes.
  • Teams must respect intellectual property rights.
  • Plagiarism, copied code, or project theft will lead to immediate disqualification.
  • Harassment, misconduct, or disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated.
  • Participants must follow all safety and security protocols of the venue.
  • The organizing committee reserves the right to modify rules if necessary to ensure fair conduct of the event.
  • 1st Prize: ₹25,000
  • 2nd Prize: ₹15,000
  • 3rd Prize: ₹10,000

Internship opportunities for the best performing team from sponsoring companies. All participants will receive Participation Certificates.
